The Golden Age is a solo exhibition of her new acrylic paintings on canvas at Nomad Gallery in White Rock, BC from April 13th-20th, 2024. This series draws inspiration from the world wide myth of Paradise. Many cultures describe a mythological land where human beings become immortal and live peacefully with nature. Some examples include: Elysium, Avalon, Dilmun, Shangri-La, Aaru, Kunlun, and TirNaNog. She creates an imaginary futuristic paradisiacal realm in her paintings and attempts to illustrate a mutualistic relationship between human life and nature rather than a competitive one. Her imagery depicts metamorphic changes between humans, birds, animals, and plants. For example, her painting titled The Whispering Wolf portrays a nonthreatening relationship between a wolf and two human beings whose lower bodies have mutated into water and plant life. In another example, her painting titled The Hummingbird Speaks portrays a symbiotic relationship between a flowering plant, hummingbirds, and two human beings. She hopes to draw awareness to an important social issue. Because human beings have overpopulated and polluted the land, air, and water sources, this has interrupted the homeostasis of our planet earth. As human beings, we have to be responsible in the way we relate to our environment in order to save the planet.
